Overview

Mailbox warm-up is the process of gradually increasing the number of emails sent from a new or inactive email address to build a positive sender reputation and avoid landing in spam folders.

IMPORTANT: Brand new mailboxes need a period of warm-up

By starting with low volumes and targeting engaged recipients who open and reply, email providers learn to trust the sender. Over time, the volume is increased while maintaining good engagement.

How Does Mailbox Warm-up Work at Perlon AI

Once your mailbox is connected to our Warm-up tool, we will start sending emails back and forth into your mailbox slowly growing both the deliverability score and the max daily email volume. The main aim of the warm-up process is to reach a 100% deliverability score and increase the max number of daily emails that can be sent out to around 20-25.

We recommend warming-up any and all net new mailboxes that you create for your campaigns. The warm-up process can run indefinitely, however to achieve best results we recommend warming-up your mailboxes for at least 2-3 weeks before connecting and using them in your campaigns.

How to Connect to Warm-up

  1. On the Email Accounts page connect your mailboxes via Gmail/Outlook or IMAP
    ​

  2. Click on the three dots to the right of each mailbox (you will need to repeat this step for each individual mailbox you wish to warm-up)
    ​

  3. Click on Connect Warm Up
    ​

  4. Select from the 3 available options depending on your mailbox setup:
    ​

    1. Connect SMTP

    2. Connect Google

    3. Connect Outlook
      ​

  5. Follow the instructions depending on the option you have selected (if you are using Google mailboxes, please make sure you have admin permissions to be able to generate an app password that is required to set up the warming up process)
    ​

  6. Continue until you see a notification confirming that your mailbox has been connected to the warm-up
    ​

  7. Once connected you should see 2 new sections appear for each connected mailbox:
    ​

    1. Deliverability Score

    2. Max Daily Email Volume
      ​

  8. Check back periodically and monitor these 2 stats until the deliverability score is closer to 100% and the max daily email volume is in the 20-25 email range.
