Campaigns - How Existing LinkedIn Connections & Late Acceptances Are Handled

This article explains what happens when a prospect is already connected with you, and when a connection request is accepted later than expected

Overview

Not every prospect starts a LinkedIn sequence from the same point. Some are already connected with you, and some accept a connection request well after the wait time you set. Perlon handles both cases automatically so prospects aren't lost or duplicated.

Prospects You're Already Connected With

Perlon checks connection status before sending a connection request. If a prospect is already a connection, the connection-request step is skipped entirely - no redundant invite is sent - and the prospect moves straight into the messaging steps of your sequence.

Late Connection Acceptances

Each connection request has a wait time attached to it, for example "wait 2 days before the next step." If a prospect accepts later than that window, Perlon AI detects the acceptance and continues them into the rest of the workflow - they aren't lost.

NOTE: Acceptance doesn't move a prospect ahead instantly. They resume at the next scheduled check and then proceed through the remaining steps as normal.

Unaccepted Invites

Unaccepted connection requests are automatically withdrawn after 14 days, in line with standard LinkedIn hygiene. If a prospect accepts a request unusually late, it's worth checking whether the original invite may already have been withdrawn.
